Overview
The Department of Economics and Trade was established in 2004 and is one of the earliest departments set up at the college. It has three undergraduate majors in International Economics and Trade, Marketing, and Logistics Management and four specialties in International Economics and Trade, Marketing, Logistics Management, and E-commerce.
The Department of Economics and Trade always aims to cultivate new-age college students with independent personality, team spirit and critical thinking, and to help regional economic development, to create a learning environment that stimulates individual potential and promotes independent development for students. From hardware facilities to academic guidance, the Department of Economics and Trade optimizes the allocation of resources and motivates students to achieve their personal goals. With excellent professionalism, swift adaptability and innovative spirit, graduates demonstrate strong competitiveness in employment and further education.

The Department of Economics and Trade has well structured team of professors with high theoretical levels, strong practical skills. At present, among the full-time teachers, those with intermediate titles or above account for 45.7%, whereas 36.4% hold overseas study background. In recent years, teachers of the Department of Economics and Trade have published more than 50 papers and presided over 17 scientific research projects. The Department of Economics and Trade has instructed students to win countless honors in various national academic competitions such as the “POCIB National College Students’ Foreign Trade Employment Ability Competition”, “National College Business Elite Challenge”, “National College Logistics Simulation Design Competition”, “National College Student Smart Supply Chain Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge”, “National College Students’ Innovation, Creativity, and Innovation” challenge.

Teaching Features
Under the guidance of “practice-oriented ” to run the college, the Department of Economics and Trade introduces business cases and practices into classrooms, broadens students’ horizons, and enhances students’ competitiveness. To promote the transformation of teaching pattern from “teaching” to “learning”, the Department of Economics and Trade implements heuristic, experiential, discussion, project, case-study, seminar and participation and other teaching models in accordance to the major features and the law of learning. Encourage students’ independent; cooperative, and inquiry-based learning as well as l strengthen the cultivation of students’ independent thinking ability, critical thinking and innovative consciousness.
The Department of Economics and Trade makes full use of information technology in classroom teaching, displays teaching content in a variety of information forms, guides teachers to explore online and offline hybrid teaching, and fully explores new smart teaching tools such as Yu Class to improve classroom teaching effects. Infusing professional competition with traditional classroom teaching, insisting on promoting teaching by competition and learning by competition, nurturing teaching by scientific research, implementing “teaching, learning, research, and implementing”, four in one, the Department of Economics and Trade has effectively promoted teaching reformation.
In terms of school-enterprise cooperation, the Department of Economics and Trade has carried out employment internships and school-enterprise cooperation projects with more than 50 companies outside the school, and introduced well-known companies such as McDonald's and Huazhu Hotel Group into the school to carry out school-business cooperation.
Facilities
The Department of Economics and Trade has three training rooms: an international trade process simulation center, a SIM-Marketing comprehensive training room, and a third-party logistics simulation training room. All majors are equipped with simulation training and teaching software, such as the Simtrade internship platform for international trade simulation teaching, SIM-Marketing simulation teaching software for marketing, and third-party logistics teaching software. At the same time, the department provides students with six professional classrooms and three discussion classrooms to create an engaging learning environment for students and encourage students to learn to reach self-realization.
Graduates Development
Graduates mainly enter public institutions, government departments and well-known companies to work in management and specific business work. At present, a large number of students have grown into the hard-cores of the companies. Among the graduates who choose to seek higher education, some students have entered the top 100 universities in the QS World University Comprehensive Ranking and well-known domestic universities over the years.
